Marriage is the union of a man and a woman that was instituted by God in the dawn of time. Jesus reminded the Pharisee's of this in a conversation about divorce recorded in Matthew 19. He said, "what God hath joined together, let not man put asunder..." What else has God joined together? There is an inseparable relationship between other spiritual precepts and properties that we cannot separate without doing damage to the plan of redemption so far as its effect in our own hearts and lives. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we look at What God Has Joined Together...

The Golden Rule is one of the most well-known maxims in all of religion or even world philosophies. Most religions claim some form of this rule but Jesus is the only person who ever stated it exactly as He did. Some attempt to reduce Christianity to only keeping The Golden Rule. While there is much more to following Christ, it is a sweeping truth that will transform every relationship we have with others. But there are at least two other related philosophies by which people are living their lives and these never attain the sublime height of living by the Golden Rule that Jesus gave. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak we consider "Three Great Rules of Life".
In the days of national Israel, after they moved into the land of promise, property lines were drawn and marked by stones called 'landmarks'. Those boundary markers were considered sacred and were not to be moved. The Old Testament sternly warned the Israelites to "Remove not the ancient landmarks which your fathers have set", thus infringing on the property of others, especially the poor. Spiritually speaking, God has set certain landmarks in our lives but they too, are being moved. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we consider part 1 of "God's Ancient Landmarks".
The winds of change are sweeping across the religious community almost as fast as they are reshaping the world at large. Long-standing beliefs and scriptural traditions are being abandoned in a pragmatic effort to make the church more adaptable and palatable to the secular world and particularly, the millennial generation. Many churches of Christ are adopting practices and approaches to scripture that were long avoided by congregations associated with restoration of primitive Christianity. This change has left many behind and confused. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak we look at why churches change, when change is good and when it is not.
Jesus said “Judge not lest ye be judged” but does this exclude the rebuke of sin and calling people to repentance? In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we examine this oft-quoted and oft-misapplied passage.
A viewer asks: "When one dies, at what point do they go to heaven? Is it immediately or at the resurrection?" This is a question, among many other related subjects, that has piqued the interest of believers throughout time. The scriptures are very clear that heaven is the ultimate destination of those who are "in Christ" and that hell is awaiting those who reject Him. Does we reach either of these destinations at the moment of death or after the second coming of Christ and the end of time as we know it? If the latter is true, what occurs in the interim? In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we look at these questions in view of various passages of scripture that seem to lift back the veil and let us glimpse at life on the other side.
Does the Bible teach that sinners should pray to receive salvation? Well-known revivalists and evangelists of the 20th century popularized this practice by calling people, often by the hundreds or even thousands, to the platform to repeat a prayer and receive Christ into their hearts. Religious pamphlets often conclude with a version of this prayer for the reader to pray if they desire to be saved. Is this taught in the scriptures? Were sinners in the book of Acts ever told to pray to receive Christ into their hearts to save them or were they told to respond to the gospel in another way? In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak we examine this popular practice in light of the bible.
Is it possible for a person once saved to forfeit their salvation? While it is true that God will not break His promise and it is also true that no man or spiritual force can pluck us from God's hand, can a person abandon Christ and thus be eternally lost? The Calvinistic doctrine of The Perseverance of the Saints is a hotly debated topic in theology and has been for centuries. In this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak, we examine this teaching in light of the scriptures.
Giving is a predominate theme throughout the word of God. God, Himself, is the Supreme Giver. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." Through the ages, His people have been taught to give back to Him by giving to His cause and by sharing with others. Though the practice of tithing, or giving a tenth of one's property back to God, predates the Mosaic law, it was made a commandment unto the Israelites. Congregations of Christians are taught to collectively treasure up a portion of what they have been given each first day of the week (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). Is this the same thing as tithing? Are Christians commanded to tithe under the new covenant and if not, what are we to give to the local church?
